One of the interlocutors appointed by Supreme Court to mediate with Shaheen Bagh protesters, Wajahat Habibullah, has filed an affidavit in the top court on the road blockage in the area. The hearing is scheduled to be held on Monday by a two-judge bench. Wajahat Habibullah, in his affidavit, said that the protest in Shaheen Bagh against Citizenship Amendment Act is peaceful. The former bureaucrat also said that the police have blocked five points around Shaheen Bagh. SC-appointed interlocutors Sanjay Hegde and Sadhana Ramachandran have so far held four rounds of talks with the protesters, trying to convince them to hold the agitation at an alternative site.
