Violent clashes broke out in Novi Sanzhary, Ukraine on February 20, 2020, as protesters tried to stop buses entering their village with more than 70 evacuees from coronavirus-hit China. The buses took hours to enter the village where the evacuees will be under quarantine for two weeks. The group arriving from Wuhan, the central Chinese city at the epicentre of the Covid-19 outbreak, includes 45 Ukrainians and 37 foreign nationals. As of February 21, Ukraine had no confirmed cases of the deadly coronavirus or related illness.
