This age old #BodoTraditional way of #technique used in separation of the worms is really very interesting. Usually the matured worms changes it's colour to yellow and ancient technique of holding the worms and squeezing it makes it really very easy to distinguish the worms.
Since the matured worms stops eating the leaves when squeezed and rubbed between the fingers it makes hollow sound while the opposite don't.
Another way is to stretch the worms and see it's intestines. If it's matured intestines are not visible while the immature one's intestines are visible and appears greenish in colour as they continue to eat.
Lastly branches of trees are cut and then the matured worms are kept in it and left undisturbed to spun out the cocoons. Spinning of the cocoons by the worms takes longer during winter while it's really quick in summer.
