Another original song! It's a little on the short side, but I still had a ton of fun making it! This was yet another final project for a Harmony class at Berklee. I really try to spend a lot of time on these, and make them more than just school projects. When making this, I started with a few base ideas, then just ran with what I was getting. Firstly, I wanted to really start incorporating flute more (as you have probably seen in my videos recently), which is why I included the juxtaposed melody for it on top of the main melody for sax. I also wanted to try and incorporate a solo section, and have both instruments take a spot. The title was also an inspiration for the piece - the intro having the pedal point and the same motif transitioning from the straight to the swing.
Aside from writing, I also really am wanting to focus in on my craft overall and really work on improving in every avenue I can.
