The Svitzer Shotley had just been stood down by the pilot which had bought the Hobby Hunter alongside Felixstowe Trinity 5. On their way back to the tug pontoon, the skipper decided to test out the fire hydrant on the port side of the vessel. Shotley moving down the harbour with a little headway, an arc of water came into sight and stopped about halfway down the harbour to swing a a bit before increasing speed and shutting off the hydrant as they approached the pontoon.
