Criticism against the Refugees Amendment Act that became law on New Year's Day is mounting. The regulations ban refugees from taking part in political campaigns while in South Africa, without special permission. With suspicions that the new laws may be unconstitutional, political analyst Steven Friedman says its also morally wrong. He said the ANC government is denying asylum seekers to do what anti-apartheid activists did when they fought repression from abroad.
