Thunderstorm warnings remain in place across NSW

Thunderstorm warnings remain in place across NSW NSW SES Deputy Commissioner Daniel Austin has told residents not to become complacent as thunderstorm warnings remain in place for parts of the state.

Tens of thousands of Sydney residents remain without power after a severe storm in NSW and volunteers responded to a number of flood rescues overnight.

Mr Austin told Sky News “we are working as fast as we can” to respond to the 12,000 calls for help.

He said the SES did not “compromise the safety of our volunteers or any other emergency service personnel” and asked “the public be patient” with the response time due to the extensive number of calls received.
