जनसामान्य में यह भ्रांति स्थापित है कि अर्जुन सर्वश्रेष्ठ धनुर्धर थे, परंतु वास्तव में कृष्ण इस विधा में भी सर्वश्रेष्ठ थे और ऐसा सिद्ध हुआ मद्र राजकुमारी लक्ष्मणा के स्वयंवर में जिसकी प्रतियोगिता द्रौपदी स्वयंवर के ही समान परंतु और कठिन थी।
