You have several choices when it comes to spending coins in Art of War Legions and in my opinion, some choices are better than others depending on how far along you are in the game. When you first start playing Art of War Legions you will want to obtain troops to fill your army and upgrade your current troops to get past levels and progress further in the game.
On the other hand, If most of your troops are already at the max level, which is currently level 7, you may want to acquire higher-level troops and/or epic and legendary troops to save space in your barracks and boost your army.
What I’m trying to say and make clear is that the best way to spend coins in Art of War Legions is different for everyone. So before I begin dishing out my opinion about spending coins I want to make sure that we all respectfully understand this.
Let’s start off with the best way to spend coins for new players (or beginners)...
When you are new to the game you need to acquire more troops and different types of troops to get past levels, rank better in the arena, and upgrade existing troops. Some troops are unlocked at certain levels and to reach these levels you may need to obtain a good mixture of troops.
So, the best way to spend coins is to obtain more troops without worrying so much about their levels. You can obtain more troops by buying Normal Card Packs in the shop. Normal Card Packs contain 3 troops at a low price and you currently have a 30% chance to obtain a 2-star troop. This is really good because you can obtain more troops for fewer coins than you can by purchasing them through the battle menu.
However, purchasing troops through the battle menu may be a good way to obtain rare troops and obtain a luck bonus to get epic and legendary troops.
So let’s talk about purchasing troops in the battle menu…
When you first enter a battle you are given the option to purchase more troops before you start the match. Depending on how far you are in the game you can purchase different level troops at different prices including 1-star troops, 2-star troops, 3-star troops, and eventually 4-star troops. The further you are in the game, the more the troops will cost and when you are able to purchase troops that are level 3 and 4 you may able to obtain an epic troop with coins.
When you purchase troops through the battle menu you may obtain a luck bonus that either measures luck between 1 and 100 or 1 and 200 depending on where you are in the game. Each troop you purchase adds a number to your bonus luck meter. For example, a 1-star troop can give you anywhere from 4 to 40 on the meter.
When you reach 100 or 200 on the bonus luck meter, you will be given an option to select a free level 2 rare, epic, or legendary troop. You can select between 3 troops and after you select a troop, you can buy both leftover troops using gems.
In my opinion, if you have a lot of max level troops or near max level troops and want to obtain more epic and legendary troops or simply upgrade more troops, purchasing level 4 troops through the battle menu for 120,000 coins a piece may be the best way to spend coins instead of purchasing Normal Card Packs or opening troop boxes. As I previously said, once you reach 100 or 200 on the luck bonus meter, depending on how far you are in the game, you will be given an option to obtain a free EPIC OR LEGENDARY 2-star troop. The only other way to obtain an epic or legendary troop with coins is to open a troop box and hope that luck is on your side.
Alight, so let’s go over everything I just talked about…
To make this clear, the best way for beginners to spend coins is to purchase Normal Card Packs so that they can obtain more troops and the best way for players who have a lot of max level troops to spend coins is to purchase 4-star troops in the battle menu so they can upgrade troops and obtain epic and legendary troops.
