Trash has been piling up along the capital’s streets as Tripoli remains cut off from a major landfill and struggles with worsening public services, footage from Friday showed.
Residents have been dumping trash on roadsides as the municipality has been unable to take in the trash to dispose of it properly.
"I hope that authorities will provide the trash bins so we can put the waste in the right place, it’s better than seeing it spreading on sidewalks like this," said a Tripoli resident.
