Children deserve to be set up for success. Once the big decisions are made the little ones are easy. Knowing what we want for our children allows us to respond instead of reacting. In this talk, Debbie Elder explores the need for new ways of educating. How can we educate our students for jobs that do not yet exist? Debbie argues that we need to focus on soft skills over traditional knowledge to create the workforce of the future.
Helping our children to identify their strength enables them to concentrate on those strengths and compensate for their weaknesses. Guided by these core values we need to help students reach their potential in all aspects of their lives; academic, social, and emotional. Her varied background has equipped her to deal with any child under any circumstance. She has 29 years of experience working with children, teens and young adults in several different countries. As a college planner Debbie helped hundreds of students successfully navigate college. Debbie is the owner of the Set Them Up For Success – The Homework Hangout franchise and Shady Oak Primary School. This elementary school offers grades 1 – 5 and is located in Richmond, Texas.
