Footage released from the village of Barisha in Syria's Idlib Governorate on Sunday, shows the aftermath of a reported US special forces operation, which led to the killing of the leader of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, according to an announcement by US President Donald Trump.

"Here there were families living in tents. We asked the families about what happened and they said some unknown people came and told them to go away and made them go sit under trees, and that a helicopter took someone and departed. But they don't know whom did they take." Ali Abdulrahman Isa who filmed the house said.

On Sunday, US President Donald Trump announced that the leader of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed in an operation led by US special forces.

According to Trump's announcement, Baghdadi blew himself up with an explosives vest, after reaching a dead-end tunnel while attempting to flee.
