Background: The Executive Yuan of Taiwan launched a 2 billion U.S. dollar subsidy program for those who are placed under home quarantine. Each patient or suspected patient will receive a subsidy of 800-1,000 New Taiwan Dollars ($26.8-$33.5) per day during the quarantine period.
On the contrary, in mainland China, the authorities have used compulsory measures to quarantine patients and suspected patients, and charge them high quarantine fees.
The video took place in a quarantine site in mainland China, with 20-30 people showing up in the footage. According to the lady who took the footage, after 14 days of quarantine, the authorities asked each person to pay 2,520 Yuan ($360) as the quarantine fee. She said they cannot afford it, and everyone is waiting for the supervisor to come and give them a final answer.
