The Paramount Chief of Brekusu and Twafohene of Akuapem, Odeefuo Oteng Korankye, has appealed to his fellow chiefs to support the Free SHS regardless of its little challenges. He noted that although the implementation of the Free Senior High School has faced difficulties, chiefs can play a major role in ensuring the smooth running of the policy.
According to him, it is about time that chiefs started constructing educational infrastructure in their communities, stressing that it will go a long way to ease the pressureon the Free SHS.
Odeefuo Oteng Korankye made this appeal at the launch of this year's Ohum Festival. The week long celebration will also see the official outdooring of a six-block Brekusu Secondary Technical, which was solely funded by the chiefs.
Odeefuo Oteng Korankye also advised politicians not to engage in dirty campaign, adding that Ghana must still stay united even after the elections.
