A Really Weird White Dwarf Spotted!

A Really Weird White Dwarf Spotted! When medium sized stars like Sun becomes old they shed their outer layers into the space and becomes white dwarfs. Astronomers have spotted a new white dwarf located approximately 150 light-years away it is called WD J0551+4135.

WD J0551+4135 is heavier than the sun within a diameter of 2/3rd of our planet. It has a unique Carbon-Hydrogen atmosphere containing unusually high levels of carbon.

Roughly 1.3 billion years ago from today two white dwarfs merged into each other but they failed to explode, as they should. Resulting into the formation of WD J0551+4135.
