The 2019 Medical Review

The 2019 Medical Review On Thursday, 28th November, the Medical Society hosted the 'Medical Review'. The Medical Review is an event in which groups of students gave short presentations in front of an expert panel of judges on a medicine-related topic of their choice. This year's theme was '21st-century diseases'. The Q&A session was conducted after the presentations in order to enhance students' experience in elaborating detailed information and their communication skills. While participating in Thursday’s Medical Review CCA to research and develop their topics, students have challenged themselves to think and work beyond the classroom. There were initially six teams in the CCA and after the preliminary round on 21st November, three teams were selected to present their research in the ‘Medical Review’. The topics presented were:
- Circulating Vaccine-Derived Poliovirus
- Parkinson's Disease
- Alzheimer's Disease

Dr Soo Jeong Lee, a clinical researcher and psychiatrist, Dr Seoyeon Kim, a family physician at a medical institution and Mr Hall, our Head of English were the judges. The team delivered the presentation about Parkinson’s Disease was the winning team, arranged with 3 students Min Young Baek, Yewon Lee and Seoyoon Bae (Yr 11 students).
