1,500 SAF personnel pack surgical masks in 24-hour operation Surgical masks will be given out to all Singapore households from Feb 1. The SAF has been packing masks since Jan 30, 10pm to prepare for the distribution. It aims to move at least 300,000 packs, each containing four masks, by Jan 31. 1,500 personnel were involved in the 24-hour operation, which Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen witnessed. He said the SAF has also been helping to do contact tracing of people from Hubei, and man thermal scanners at airports. He reassured that security will not be compromised despite this mobilisation of personnel.
