Oakland City bans criminal background checks to tackle its homelessness crisis (DEBATE)

A Californian city is banning property owners from conducting criminal background checks on potential tenants. Oakland City Council's move, designed to tackle the homelessness crisis, is set for a final reading next month. The target is to help former criminals reintegrate into society and not end up on the street.
