Auto e Moto d'Epoca 2019 in Padua

Auto e Moto d'Epoca 2019 in Padua Opening its doors today (until Sunday, 27th) at Padua Exhibition Centre, the 36th edition of Auto e Moto d’Epoca is one of the biggest international events dedicated to historic vehicles, capable of bringing together culture, passion, technology and design. With a constantly growing number of exhibitors, cars on sale and visitors - 120,000 last year - testifying to an ever intense interest in the history of the car and how much vintage cars are a benchmark for the development of current and future models.

“Red Ferraris dressed in their racing best”: an exclusive exhibition
In the spotlight, an unique exhibition dedicated to the elemental, fast, extremely beautiful Ferrari barchettas with which Ferrari made its first foray into the racing world. Eight models from major international collectors: from Gianni Agnelli's 166MM exhibited at the MoMA through to the most recent incredible SP Ferrari Monza. Also visible in Pavilion 3 - ACI Arena - the 340 MM Vignale, 375 Barchetta Pininfarina, 250 MM Pininfarina, one of the four models ever made of the 857 S, the Ferrari 750 Monza, the 500 Mondial and also the youngtimer 550 Barchetta. All together they will give rise to “Red Ferraris dressed in their racing best”, an exhibition which in itself is worth the ticket price alone.

Waiting for the auction with Finarte on Friday, 25th
The 2019 edition also includes the participation of the prestigious Finarte auction house, that will be putting items under the hammer on Friday, 25th at 2:30 pm.

Museums, Foundations, Clubs and Registers recount history
Yet Auto e Moto d’Epoca is also and above all a place where you can enjoy passion for cars thanks to an incredible array of collections and models that visitors rarely have the opportunity to see all in one place. Such as the Itala 35/45 HP from the MAUTO in Turin which in 1907 won the incredible Peking to Paris race, travelling more than 16,000 kilometres in only 60 days across deserts and mule tracks. Or the exhibition by the Macaluso Foundation, which is taking two absolute masterpieces of automotive design to Padua 2019: A 1968 BIZZARRINI 5300 GT and a 1967 FERRARI 275 GTB/4. Models from Club Lancia are on show to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of Zagato, and - on loan from the Nicolis Museum in Verona - a spectacular 1965 Lancia Flaminia “Super Sport Zagato”. Last but by no means least, there is no shortage of collections from Historic Clubs and Registers, bringing the most significant cars belonging to their members’ collections to Padua.

Car manufacturers from the past to the future
Highlighting the common trait which cars from the past share with those of the present and future is one of the distinguishing features of Auto e Moto d’Epoca. Among the manufacturers attending this year, it is worth pointing out the French maker Alpine which is back on the scene with the legendary A110, the queen of Monte Carlo, and brings the new A110 S with nearly 300 HP to make its Italian début. Padua is also playing host to Dallara, with the historic F382 and the futuristic Dallara Stradale. And more still: the 100 by Bentley; FORD with 60 years of the Transit brand and, in a national preview, the latest Custom Plug-In Hybrid version; McLaren; Atelier Pagani; SEAT and Porsche.

5,000 cars on sale on the biggest European market
Auto e Moto d’Epoca can boast the record as being the trade fair with the largest number of models on sale: a generous 5,000 where you can really find all kinds of cars, from the 1920s Rolls Royce and Bentleys to epic sports cars from the 50s and 60s, such as the Mercedes 300 SL and Ferrari Daytona, and the small but elaborate utility cars which have made mobility history. It is the trade fair where anyone can find “their” ideal vintage car, one they can get excited about, with a varied choice of makes, models, eras and price ranges. This year, the dealers' section grows by an impressive 2,000 square metres in Pavilion 15. The specialised spare parts market is vast, like each year, with a stark increase in the number of European exhibitors. Also confirmed is the presence of Ferrari spare parts specialists, from the 50s to the present day, and Lancia.

The vintage charm of collectors’ items
It’s also worth exploring the largest national automobilia exhibition at the fair: a whole world of accessories, historic documents, sports memorabilia and works of art. Essential collectors’ items to complete your vintage experience. In the pavilions, visitors will also find the new Arts&Crafts section: a large number of designer objects and high quality clothing - from the legendary vintage Louis Vuitton chests to a rare selection of silk headscarves made in the 50s as requested by the car manufacturers to prestigious stylists and fashion houses such as Giugiaro, Hermes and Ferragamo. Also present are many Motor Art artists, high quality craftsmen and leading technical sports clothing brands: ranging from Gulf to the official 1000 Miglia Merchandising.
